STRUCTURED CABLING SYSTEMS

IT FAMILIJA has over 20 years of experience in designing and installing universal cable infrastructure, also known as structured cabling systems. Structured cabling is designed and executed to support the transmission of data, voice, video, and multimedia signals, regardless of the equipment manufacturer. By placing all the cables in a star topology, it is possible to connect each workplace to the central distribution, where the entire system is connected and administered. This approach enables communication with any device, anywhere and anytime. A well-designed cabling system includes different media types at the same workstation (optical, UTP, coaxial cables) to support all of the system requirements at that workstation.

The architecture of structured cabling systems is generally as follows:

  • Campus cabling: separation between campus facilities – campus distributor CD
  • Vertical cabling: distribution between floors – building distributor BD
  • Horizontal cabling: floor distribution – floor distributor FD
  • Transition point: transition point TP
  • Work space: connection of user equipment (computer, telephone, printer, IP telephone…) telecommunication outlet TO

The elements of passive equipment that make up the structural cable system are:

  • Telecommunication cabinets
  • Installation cables (copper and optical)
  • Splitters (patch panels)
  • Telecommunication sockets (copper and optical)
  • Patch cables

IT FAMILIJA has all the necessary equipment and knowledge for the installation of optical cables and fusion splicing of FO multimode and monomode fibers. Upon completion of the installation, we test the optical fibers with an OTDR device. For the installation of U/UTP, U/FTP, and S/FTP cables of all categories, we have all the tools, experience, and manufacturer’s certificates necessary for a successful installation. Upon completion of the installation, we perform testing with the NetAlly Linkrunner G2 smart network tester.
